How billing works
- Every organization includes the $29/month base platform.
- Contractors are billed only when they appear in an approved pay run.
- Each active contractor is billed at $3 (Platform) or $6 (Platform + Payouts). If a contractor qualifies for both in one billing period, the higher rate applies — once.
- Payouts are execution-only. Caliber does not change how you calculate pay.
What counts as an approved pay run?
An approved pay run is a pay period that has been reviewed and approved by an authorized person in your organization. Contractors are active for billing only if they appear in at least one approved pay run during the billing month. Draft pay runs do not count.

Frequently asked questions
Is account setup free?
Yes. Create your organization, add contractors, import records, and build and review draft pay runs without a subscription.
When is a subscription required?
To approve a pay run, generate and deliver final statements, and execute payouts. Everything before approval works without one.
What counts as an active contractor?
A contractor is active in a billing month when they appear in at least one approved pay run that month. Contractors not included in any approved pay run are not billed.
What if a contractor is in both configurations in one month?
The highest configuration wins for that billing period: the contractor is billed once, at $6, not at both rates.
How do I configure contractors?
Your organization chooses a default configuration (Platform or Platform + Payouts). Individual contractors can be set differently as needed.
Can I mix Platform and Platform + Payouts?
Yes. Set each contractor individually. Some contractors can receive payouts while others receive statements only.
What payout speeds are available?
Payouts are planned — standard ACH through Stripe, subject to Stripe approval. They are not available yet. Instant and next-day ACH will not be offered.
